Gift Card Rules

Wright Repairs Handyman Service LLC Gift Card / Gift Certificate Policy (Labor-Only) Effective Date: October 7, 2025 Service Area: Spokane County, WA (includes Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Airway Heights, Cheney, Deer Park) and Pullman, WA 1. PURPOSE These gift cards are issued by Wright Repairs Handyman Service LLC (“Wright Repairs”) and are accepted ONLY for labor charges. Gift cards may NOT be used to pay for materials, parts, third party purchases, or sales taxes. Use of a gift card constitutes acceptance of these terms. 2. SCOPE & WHERE THEY ARE VALID Gift cards are valid only for services provided by Wright Repairs Handyman Service LLC in the following locations: - City of Spokane (Spokane County) - Spokane Valley - Liberty Lake - Airway Heights - Cheney - Deer Park - Pullman, WA 3. WHAT THE GIFT CARD COVERS (LABOR ONLY) - Gift card funds may be applied only to charges for the labor portion of invoices (technician time, hourly labor, flat-rate service fees directly billed as labor). - Gift cards CANNOT be used for: - Materials, supplies, or parts purchased by Wright Repairs or the customer. - Sales tax, use tax, or other government-imposed taxes or fees. - Third-party contractor fees, permits, or specialty disposal costs. - If an invoice contains both labor and materials, the gift card will be applied only to the labor line(s). The customer is responsible for paying material costs and taxes by cash, card, or other accepted payment methods. 4. NO EXPIRATION / NO DORMANCY OR INACTIVITY FEES - In compliance with Washington State law, gift cards issued by Wright Repairs do not expire and do not accrue inactivity, dormancy, or service fees. (See Washington Rev. Code § 19.240 and related guidance.) 5. PARTIAL REDEMPTION & CHANGE - If a gift card value exceeds the labor portion of an invoice, the remaining balance will remain on the gift card for future labor services (no expiration). - If the labor portion is greater than the gift card balance, the customer must pay the difference using an accepted payment method. Gift cards may be combined with other payment methods at the time of service. 6. CASH OUT RIGHTS (SMALL BALANCES) - Under Washington guidance, when a remaining gift card balance is below a small threshold (commonly $5 or less), customers may have the right to request cash redemption. Wright Repairs will follow applicable Washington State guidance and Attorney General guidance regarding cash redemption for small balances. 7. LOST, STOLEN, OR DAMAGED CARDS - Treat gift cards like cash. Wright Repairs is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged gift cards unless otherwise required by law. Cards without proof of purchase or authorization may not be redeemable until ownership is validated. 8. HOW REDemptION WORKS (INVOICE & RECEIPT PROCESS) - At or after service, Wright Repairs will issue an itemized invoice that separates labor from materials and taxes. - The cardholder or authorized payer must present the physical or digital gift card at the time of payment or provide the card number/authorization for phone or online billing. - Gift card funds will be applied only to labor line-items on the invoice. Sales tax will be shown separately and must be paid by the cardholder or customer by another payment method. 9. TAXES & REPORTING (BUSINESS SIDE) - For tax purposes, Wright Repairs will record revenue from gift cards when redeemed. Sales tax, if applicable to a redeemed service, will be collected at the time of redemption and applied to the portion of the transaction that is taxable. (Washington Department of Revenue guidance.) - Gift card balances that remain unredeemed may be subject to Washington unclaimed property rules if required by state law; Wright Repairs will comply with unclaimed property reporting obligations if they apply. 10. TRANSFERS, REISSUE & REFUNDS - Gift cards are transferable (may be given as gifts), unless otherwise restricted on special promotional cards. - Wright Repairs may, at its option, reissue a replacement card for lost/damaged cards after validating ownership. Gift cards are non-refundable except where required by law or Wright Repairs’ discretion. Purchases made with gift cards are subject to Wright Repairs’ standard service refund policy for labor services. 11. PROMOTIONAL & COMBINED OFFERS - Promotional restrictions may apply (e.g., cannot be combined with certain discounts or promotions). Such restrictions will be stated in the promotional materials. 12. LEGAL COMPLIANCE & GOVERNING LAW - These terms comply with Washington State law regarding gift certificates and gift cards, including but not limited to RCW Title 19, Chapter 19.240 and guidance from the Washington Department of Revenue and Attorney General’s Office. - Wright Repairs will follow any future changes in Washington law or administrative guidance affecting gift card issuance, redemption, or reporting. 13. SAMPLE SCENARIOS (for staff training & customer clarity) - Scenario A: Customer redeems a $100 gift card for a job with $80 labor + $40 materials + $9.00 sales tax on materials. Gift card applies to the $80 labor only; customer pays $49 (materials + tax) by separate payment. - Scenario B: Customer presents a $50 gift card toward a $120 labor-only invoice. Remaining $70 is paid by card or cash at time of service. - Scenario C: Customer has $3.00 remaining on a gift card after purchase. Customer may request cash redemption for small balances as required by Washington guidance. 15. LANGUAGE FOR FACEBOOK ADS / POSTS / WEBSITE (Short legal-friendly copy) “Give the gift of skilled, local labor! Wright Repairs gift cards may be applied to labor only — they do NOT cover materials or sales tax. No expiration dates. Valid for services in Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Airway Heights, Cheney, Deer Park, and Pullman. See full terms at www.wrightrepairshandyman.com/gift-cards.” 16. ACKNOWLEDGMENT By purchasing, accepting, or using a Wright Repairs gift card, you acknowledge and accept these terms and agree that gift cards will be applied only to labor charges; materials and taxes are excluded.--- Legal & tax notes — summary of authoritative guidance: - Washington law restricts expiration dates and fees on gift cards/gift certificates (RCW Title 19, Chapter 19.240).- Washington Department of Revenue advises businesses to report income from gift cards when customers redeem the card; sales tax, if applicable, is collected at time of redemption. - Washington maintains an unclaimed property program that may apply to unredeemed gift card balances; Wright Repairs will comply with reporting obligations where applicable.

🚫 Non-Redeemable Labor Services

Gift cards issued by Wright Repairs Handyman Service LLC may only be applied toward eligible handyman labor services.
They cannot be used for or applied toward any of the following:

  1. Excavation or trenching work of any kind.

  2. Electrical work of any kind. Wright Repairs Handyman Service LLC does not offer electrical services under any circumstance.

  3. Plumbing work of any kind. Wright Repairs Handyman Service LLC does not offer plumbing services under any circumstance.

  4. Window installation or replacement.

  5. Concrete work — including pouring, leveling, finishing, or structural concrete repair.

  6. Framing or structural carpentry work.

  7. Any work requiring a licensed specialty trade permit (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).

  8. Any project outside Spokane County or the surrounding approved service areas, including Spokane Valley, Airway Heights, Cheney, Liberty Lake, Deer Park, and Pullman.
